Day 10 - 12
Well, I'm back at it after taking a week or so off from the construction. I didn't have any time to spend on it over the past week but this past weekend I was able to spend most of Saturday really getting back into it.

Walls almost completed w/o bracing |
I was actually able to finish most of the wall containing the door as well as build out the basics of the other 3 walls (pictures above). I now have a free standing booth without any of the internal bracing. I still need to carpet the walls as well as paint the interior studs but I need to finish the bracing before doing the finishing work. If you have never hung a door before, make sure to read the instructions carefully that come with the door - or find a friend that has in order to help. It took me awhile to get it hung because you really need to make sure it is level and this was my first time ever hanging a door.
After searching high and low for a table saw, I came up empty so I decided to take my 1.5x3 back to Lowes and have the store rip them for me. This was actually a little bit of a hold up for me since I needed the 1.5 x 1.5s in order to do the bracing. Unfortunately, they couldn't do this for me because they didn't have the right equipment... However, they were very helpful in finding me what I needed. I exchanged my 1.5x3 and purchased 2x2x8's (which measure out to the exact size I need :-)
Just as a side note for anyone following, the plans are a little lacking. At least the ones that I have (version 2). The drawings could definitely be more detailed. It would help immensely if all of the measurements were on the drawings. Although it is my understanding that the newer version of the plans have more drawings so maybe those are more detailed. It hasn't hindered me yet, but it has caused me to do more thinking about how to finish things than I would have liked. ;-)
I believe my next steps are to install the internal bracing for the walls and then paint them because I really want to see about roughing out the electrical work but I need the internal wall work done before I can begin that. So stay tuned for my next installment.
